Lisa Langford
Lisa Langford earned a B.A. in Modern European History from Harvard University. She studied acting at The Juilliard School and completed her theatre training at The American Repertory Theater Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard. As an actress, Lisa has worked in television, film, and theatre, earning a Lucille Lortel nomination and Off-Broadway Encore Magazine’s “Taking Off” award for best female performance.
Her play Rastus and Hattie received a Joyce Award, a Kilroy’s List honorable mention, and was published by New Stage Press. Lisa’s other plays include The Art of Longing, a finalist for the Leslie Scalapino Award for Innovative Women Performance Writers; How Blood Go, produced by Congo Square Theatre in residence at Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago; and Breakfast at the Bookstore, which won Pittsburgh Public Theatre’s 2022 New Play Contest and was one of five winning plays in the Ashland New Plays Festival in Oregon. She’s also written a children’s play about death, Teddy Bear Mountain, which toured with the Cleveland Playhouse. Her next play, Sankofa, a young adult play about the importance of history, is produced by Playhouse Square and opens in 2026.
